Report claims Newcastle’s Diafra Sakho loan approach turned down

Newcastle United and Everton have been linked with West Ham United’s Diafra Sakho in the January transfer window.

Newcastle United are interested in signing Diafra Sakho from West Ham United in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Magpies have asked West Ham about signing Sakho on loan for the rest of the season.

However, Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has been turned down by the Hammers, according to the report.

Everton are also reported to be interested in signing the 28-year-old Senegal international striker by The Sun.

It has been reported that since Everton manager Sam Allardyce and West Ham boss David Moyes are friends, they could sort out a deal for Sakho.

“However, Allardyce and Moyes are big pals and could sort out the move between them, with the middle men working on the numbers,” states the report in The Sun.

Newcastle are struggling to score goals in the Premier League at the moment, and the Magpies do need to sign a proven scorer during the second half of the season.

Sakho has experience of playing in the Premier League, but the striker has had injury problems in recent times and is struggling to play regular first-team football at the Hammers.
