Newcastle United have been linked with Juventus-owned Sassuolo right-back Pol Lirola in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that Newcastle are looking into the prospect of signing the 20-year-old defender in the January transfer window.

However, the youngster is on loan at Sassuolo from Juventus until the end of the 2017-18 campaign, and the Turin giants are reportedly not looking to recall him.
The Spaniard is progressing well at the Serie A outfit, and it is quite puzzling that Newcastle (reportedly) want him now knowing fully well just how tough it is going to be.

After all, why would Sassuolo let Lirola leave in the middle of the season? Giuseppe Iachini’s side are struggling for survival in Serie A, and the right-back is an important player for them.
Moreover, why would Juventus want to loan out Lirola to a club in England? After all, it would make sense for the Italian giants to see the youngster develop in Serie A and stand a chance of establishing himself in the Bianconeri first team in the long run.
