Italian outlet Notizie Milan claim that Roma are willing to sanction the exit of Jordan Veretout for just £8.5million – amid links to both Newcastle and Tottenham. The ex-Villa star has a contract at Roma until June 2024.
Veretout, 29, has spent the last three seasons at the Stadio Olimpico – initially joining Roma on loan from Fiorentina in 2019. He joined then on a permanent basis in 2020, clocking up 131 appearances in three seasons.
The five-time France international has been crucial for Roma since, clocking up 38 goal involvements from midfield – 14 of which have come around this season. Scoring four, he laid on 10 assists in 50 appearances.
Reports emerged in March claiming that Veretout had played his last game for Roma, amid interest from Spurs and Newcastle. But he continued to play until the end of the season, coming off the bench in the Conference Final.
Now, a report from Notizie Milan says that Jose Mourinho is willing to wave goodbye to the hard-working midfielder for just £8.5million. A potential bargain for either the Toon or Spurs – or any other club that is interested.

Roma to sanction Veretout exit amid Tottenham and Newcastle links
For a bargain £8.5million, both Spurs and Newcastle have got to make a move for the Roma midfielder. While he would probably not start for Spurs, he would offer some crucial depth going into the Champions League.
He would give Antonio Conte a player that can score a goal or create from the midfield. Excellent cover, for a bargain price. At Newcastle, there is no doubt he would be first choice. The Toon will be wary of Financial Fairplay.
They will be bringing in players but if they can sign the likes of Veretout and the quality he has, for just £8.5million, then it is a no-brainer. Would he prefer to start for Newcastle, or provide cover at Spurs? Time will tell.
