The Benfica man would be a useful addition to the Newcastle United squad.

Reports emanating from Portugal today claim that the Magpies could be back in for Benfica ace Lisandro Lopez in January, and €15 million (£13.2 million) might just be enough to get a deal over the line, according to Portuguese media outlet Record.
Rafa Benitez has endured a difficult Premier League campaign thus far, and despite the fact that his side sit comfortably in 12th position in the table, he has still had to face heavy criticism from pundits and fans alike for his side’s inconsistent, flakey nature.
The Spaniard will surely be looking to strengthen his options in January, with the addition of an established centre-back featuring highly on his wish-list, although it is unclear just how much money he will be given to spend.

According to the Portuguese Record, Benitez is lining up an offer for Benfica defender Lisandro Lopez in January, and he could be available for just over £13 million.
Standing at 6ft 2in tall, the Argentine is strong in the air, and in the challenge – two attributes that are prerequisites for anyone hoping to be a success in the Premier League.

At 28-years-old, Lopez is extremely experienced, and possesses the kind of leadership skills that the Toon currently lack.
And if Rafa manages to bring him to St James’ Park in January, it could turn out to be a real coup for Newcastle.
