Manchester City may splash the cash this summer – but it may not be a striker that they focus on after all.
Sergio Aguero’s exit has already been confirmed, and he will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
That means many are expecting City to go and sign a big-name striker this summer, with the Manchester Evening News claiming that the club are confident of signing Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland.
However, the Sunday World now claim that City could be ready to leave the battle for Haaland – because they want to focus on Jack Grealish instead.
It’s suggested that Grealish, not Haaland, is Pep Guardiola’s dream signing this summer, and a £75million move could be in the offing.
Aston Villa are allegedly aware that City want to sign Grealish, and keeping hold of the 25-year-old may be a tough ask if City do come calling.

Grealish has notched six goals and 10 assists this season, but now faces up to being out until May with an injury.
The England international could operate in from the left flank or form a creative central partnership with Kevin De Bruyne, which would leave City fans entertained – yet missing out on Haaland is the kind of thing that could come back to haunt them in the future.
