According to TuttoJuve, Liverpool’s latest stance on Thiago Alcantara is good news for Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that City and Juventus are interested in signing Thiago from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

Guardiola is very interested in the former Barcelona player with whom he worked at the La Liga giants and at Bayern, according to the report.

The report in TuttoJuve has cited ESPN’s claim that Liverpool will not make a move for the 29-year-old central midfielder.

ESPN has reported that the Reds will only delve into the transfer market if a key player leaves.

Earlier this month, Sport reported that Liverpool are close to signing Thiago, who was described as a “a world-class footballer” by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp back in February 2019, as quoted on talkSPORT.

Closing the gap

There is a huge gap between Liverpool – who have already won the Premier League title this season – and City, who are set to finish second in the table.

Thiago is a superb footballer with extensive experience and a winning mentality, and he would make City a better team and would be a massive help in Guardiola’s quest to reclaim the championship next season.
