According to FOS Online in Greece, Olympiacos defender Ousseynou Ba is only Arsenal’s fourth-choice centre back target for this summer.

Their report pokes fun at some of the recent claims in England about Arsenal’s interest in Ba. They put forward their side, which makes a move to North London seem unlikely.

They claim Arsenal do like Ba, but he is not as high on their wish list as being made out. In fact, Ba is allegedly only fourth or even fifth choice as Arsenal pursue a new defender.

They also mock the idea that €20million (£18million) would be enough to land Ba. Instead, they suggest that €20million is the absolute minimum price, with Olympiacos looking for much more.

This report is delivered with some confidence, and seems to put over the message that Ba is unlikely to be joining the Gunners any time soon.

Ba, 24, joined Olympiacos from Gazelec Ajaccio last summer, and has shown real promise in his 18 first-team appearances this season.

The Senegalese centre back is a giant at 6ft 4in tall, and he showed his quality in the Europa League against Arsenal before the global pandemic.

Sportime noted last month that Liverpool want Ba, and he has been recommended by compatriot Sadio Mane. With Arsenal maybe not as interested as previously claimed, there could be a window for the Reds to swoop in.
