Norwich City’s approach for Garry Monk has reportedly been turned down by Leeds United.
Leeds United have turned down Norwich City’s move for Garry Monk, according to The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 67, May 21, 2017).
No more details have been given, but from this report it does seem that Leeds are determined to keep hold of Monk.
The former Swansea City manager was appointed in his current role at Elland Road in the summer of 2016 on a one-year contract.
Monk’s deal runs out in the summer, but it seems that Leeds are keen on to keep hold of Monk, as they have (reportedly) turned down Championship rivals Norwich’s approach.
This is certainly positive for Leeds, who narrowly failed to finish in the top six of the Championship this season.
Monk is a very good manager, and if he stays in charge of the Whites next season and is backed in the summer transfer window, then the West Yorkshire outfit could even challenge for the automatic promotion places.
