West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis comments on signing Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor in the summer transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has suggested to The Express & Star that the club may not sign Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor in the summer transfer window.
Pulis has suggested that he does not want the deal to recruit the 23-year-old left-back to go to a tribunal.
The former England Under-19 international is out of contract at Leeds at the end of the season and is available for transfer in the summer transfer window.

“We wanted to find out what the price was to see if we’d be interested,” Pulis told The Express & Star. “If it’s going to go to tribunal, we don’t know what the price is and I think that takes us out of the game.
“You could go to tribunal and they could put an extraordinary amount of money on it and you’re stuck with it. It’s a risk that, at this moment, is not worth taking.”
According to The Express & Star, West Brom made an opening bid of £3.5 million for Taylor, but Leeds want more.
From Pulis’s comments, it seems that the Baggies may not make another offer for Taylor, who is one of the best left-backs in the Championship.
West Brom, though, should not give up on Taylor just yet. The Premier League outfit should be willing to pay more for a player who could develop even more and establish himself as one of the best defenders in the top flight of English football if given the chance.
