Leeds United and Sunderland have been linked with Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that Sunderland manager Chris Coleman wants to secure the services of the 18-year-old forward in January.
Coleman worked with the talented and promising youngster when he was the manager of the Wales national football team.
Sunderland’s Championship rivals, Leeds, are also interested in the Wales international forward and have enquired about him, according to the report, which claims that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is prepared to let him leave on loan.
“Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is prepared to allow 18-year-old Woodburn out on loan for the rest of the season, providing he is guaranteed substantial playing time,” adds the report in The Mirror.
Woodburn is a very talented and promising young forward who would be a good addition at Sunderland or Leeds.
Given that the youngster has already worked with Coleman, he could be tempted to move to the Stadium of Light.
However, the Black Cats are struggling in the Championship at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season.
On the other hand, Leeds are doing great in the Championship and could well end up clinching a playoff spot.
