According to Bild, Jurgen Klopp was the one who decided not to sign Ozan Kabak for Liverpool on a permanent basis.
Kabak joined Liverpool on loan from Schalke on deadline day in January, arriving alongside Ben Davies to bolster Klopp’s defensive options.
The Turkish international started shakily but ended up playing well, only for Liverpool to avoid a permanent deal in favour of signing Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.
Klopp said no to Kabak at Liverpool
Bild in Germany claim that Klopp was the one who cancelled a permanent move for Kabak, rather than Michael Edwards or anyone else at Anfield.
With Konate on board and the injured trio of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip set to return, Klopp maybe felt there was no need to spend on Kabak.
Schalke hoped that Kabak would gain some value at the European Championships, but he didn’t start a single game for Turkey, meaning it’s all going wrong for the relegated side from Gelsenkirchen.

Where could Kabak end up now?
It’s stated that Leicester City and Newcastle United both want to sign Kabak and could still give him a Premier League move after Liverpool said no.
Leicester must be appealing; they have Europa League football and Kabak’s international teammate Caglar Soyuncu is already at the club.
There are no offers on the table for Kabak just yet, but Klopp may well end up having to face the 21-year-old next season and beyond.
