The Spain international attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to Everton this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Everton are interested in signing Mata from Premier League rivals United.
It has been reported that the 28-year-old is aware that he has no future at the Red Devils, who will have former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in charge of the first team next season.
The Sun has claimed that Mata would prefer a move to Spain, with Valencia reported to be interested in securing his services this summer.

“Meanwhile, Everton face a real struggle if they are to tempt Juan Mata from Manchester United,” states the report in The Sun.
“The £20m-rated midfielder will be allowed to leave now Jose Mourinho — who sold him to United from Chelsea — has arrived. Yet United sources insist Mata would far prefer a return to Spain, with Valencia a likelier option.”

Mata is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League, and he would be a great signing for Everton.
The Toffees will be aiming to finish in the top six of the league table next season, and the Spaniard would play a key role.
However, the key question is whether the former Valencia star would consider making a move to Goodison Park.
After playing for Premier League giants Chelsea and United, Mata could consider switching to Everton a step down in his career.
