Newcastle United are being bizarrely linked with Jose Mourinho.

According to Sport Mediaset in Italy, Jose Mourinho would want to have Marco Materazzi on his coaching staff if he makes an unlikely move to Newcastle United.
The Magpies announced earlier today that Benitez will be leaving the club this week, bringing an end to weeks – even months – of attempts to keep him at St James’ Park.
Benitez’s contract ends on Sunday, and Mike Ashley must now attempt to find a replacement, with fans expecting the worst.
The Mirror did recently report that Mourinho was bizarrely interested in the job, and claims in Italy now suggest that Mourinho already knows he would want Materazzi on his Newcastle staff.
Mourinho has been out of work since losing his job at Manchester United in December, and reuniting with his former Inter defender Materazzi would make sense having enjoyed a close relationship at the San Siro.
However, a move for Mourinho seems entirely unlikely. If Newcastle can’t give Benitez what he wants, there is a slim chance that they can convince Mourinho.

It’s not even just a financial thing. Benitez completely lost trust in Ashley by the end, and whilst he kept his cool throughout his time at St James’ Park, Mourinho may find it a little more difficult.
A takeover may just help a pursuit for Mourinho, providing funds and backing that Benitez didn’t have, and if that does happen, it seems that Materazzi may be one of his first moves.
