According to Calciomercato, Inter Milan have no plans to sell Milan Skriniar in January after talks over a Tanguy Ndombele swap deal fell apart.
It’s claimed that negotiations did take place over a deal that would see Skriniar join Tottenham Hotspur with Ndombele heading in the opposite direction.
In the end, Inter didn’t like Tottenham’s valuation of Ndombele, and they instead signed Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal on the recommendation of his former Juventus boss Antonio Conte.
Tottenham then wanted Skriniar in a straight cash deal, but that didn’t happen either – and Inter allegedly have no plans to let him leave in January either.
Spurs wanted the Slovakian star to bolster Jose Mourinho’s back line, but couldn’t push a deal through before the international deadline earlier this month.
In the end, Spurs signed Joe Rodon from Swansea City instead, and it now seems unlikely that they will go for another defender in January now, with Rodon, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga all in contention.

Add in that Ndombele is now featuring more regularly under Jose Mourinho than he was at the start of the season, and the idea of a swap deal can surely be ruled out.
Rather than have the finished product in Skriniar, Spurs will now hope to develop Rodon into a player of similar quality – and at a much, much cheaper price, without losing Ndombele either.
