It has been reported by the British newspaper that Hull need defensive cover amid fears that Moses Odubajo could be out of competitive action until the early months of 2017.
According to The Daily Mail, Bordeaux centre-back Ludovic Sane is a target for Hull, but Chester is also claimed to be an option.
It has been reported that Hull manager Steve Bruce could revive his interest in Chester, who left the Tigers for West Brom in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee, as claimed by The Daily Mail, of £8 million.
Chester created four chances in 13 Premier League appearances for West Brom during the 2015-16 season.
The Wales international centre-back had a pass accuracy of 69%, and won 21 headers, three dribbles and 22 tackles.
In six matches for Wales at the 2016 European Championship in France this summer, the defender created one chance, had a pass accuracy of 88%, and won 15 headers, six dribbles and 15 tackles.
