According to GiveMeSport, Fenway Sports Group will move for Steven Gerrard if Jürgen Klopp walks out on Liverpool.
The German is understood to be unhappy with how news of Liverpool’s involvement in the Super League was revealed.
However, he has no plans to walk away.
If he changes his mind, or leaves for another reason in the near future, then FSG seem to have decided that Gerrard is their man.
Why not?
The 40-year-old has just become the most popular man at Ibrox after halting Celtic’s ten-in-a-row charge and helping Rangers lift their 55th title.

In our view, Gerrard has also impressed hugely with his conduct in interviews, and handling of difficult situations.
He came across superbly in the wake of the racism storm surrounding Glen Kamara, while he has also dealt admirably with ill-discipline from those who breached COVID-19 restrictions.
Also, it goes without saying that he’d be an instant favourite at Anfield before he’s even managed one game.

Having said this, Gerrard shouldn’t take the Liverpool job just yet.
We’ve already seen the dangers of hiring a club legend too early into his managerial career with Frank Lampard and Chelsea.
It would be a real shame if Gerrard succeeded Klopp, and eventually ended up getting sacked by FSG.
From our point of view, he should remain in charge of Rangers for a few more seasons before taking on such a massive job.
