Should Nottingham Forest offer Eric Lichaj a new contract?

Eric Lichaj will leave Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Star.
Lichaj has been on the books of Forest since 2013 and has a contract with the Reds until June 2018, as reported by The Nottingham Post.
The 28-year-old defender is a good player and has done quite well at the City Ground so far, and this report does come as a surprise.
Lichaj’s wife, Kathryn, though seems to have suggested on social networking site Twitter in a series of posts (which you can see by clicking here) that the player could remain at the City Ground.
Many Forest fans have also expressed their surprise at speculation linking the defender with a move away from the City Ground at the end of the season.
Lichaj is a good defender, and he deserves a new contract. Perhaps Forest are waiting to see if they remain in the Championship next season before offering the USA international a new deal.
Forest are 20th in the Championship table at the moment with 41 points from 38 matches, just a point above the relegation zone.
