Diogo Jota has been absolutely perfect for Liverpool so far – but Jurgen Klopp will now have to make do without him.
The Reds needed to find a goalscorer over the summer; yes, they have Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, but they had to find a fourth attacker to rely on when needed.
Jota has been that player; in 17 games for Liverpool, the 24-year-old has smashed nine goals, forcing his way into Klopp’s starting plans in recent weeks.
He played 87 minutes against Midtjylland in midweek, but that may now have come back to haunt Klopp after Jota picked up an injury.
Fans already knew that Jota would be missing today’s game with Fulham due to a knee injury, and the Portuguese media have detailed his blow.
Record report that Jota will now miss two months, meaning he will miss the busy Christmas and New Year schedule, with his 2020 now over.

If true, this is a massive blow for Klopp. Jota has provided another spark in Liverpool’s attack, whether utilised centrally or out wide.
Liverpool likely now have to rely on Divock Origi for attacking depth, and Klopp will be praying that Jota returns sooner than expected.
