West Ham United are reportedly close to landing Manuel Pellegrini.
According to The Mirror, West Ham United will confirm the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini in the next 48 hours – and will hand him a ‘significant’ transfer budget.
The Hammers parted ways with David Moyes last week, with the Scot’s contract expiring after a 3-1 win over Everton, bringing an end to six months in charge.
West Ham are now looking for another manager having sacked Slaven Bilic in November too, and it seems they are set to land their new man.
The Mirror report that West Ham have given up hope of landing Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez, but are set to appoint Manuel Pellegrini in the next 48 hours.
The Chilean has left Chinese outfit Hebei China Fortune this weekend in order to facilitate a move to East London, and the 64-year-old is set to pen a deal with West Ham in the coming days, securing a Premier League return.
Pellegrini, formerly of Real Madrid, won the Premier League title with Manchester City in 2014, and will now return to the Premier League with the alleged target of turning West Ham into a regular top half team.
It’s also stated that Pellegrini will be given a ‘significant’ transfer budget this summer in order to re-tool a struggling Hammers squad, and whilst it may not be the riches he was used to with Real Madrid, Manchester City or even Hebei China Fortune, Pellegrini should be looking forward to a busy summer.
