Report claims Celtic interest in Bristol City’s Aden Flint

West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City have also been linked with Bristol City defender Aden Flint on transfer deadline day.

According to The Scottish Sun (Transfer blog, August 31, 2017), Celtic are interested in signing Aden Flint from Bristol City in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that City, who are playing in the Championship in England this season, want as much as £5 million as transfer fee in order to part company with the 28-year-old defender.

The Daily Mail (Transfer blog, 07:31am, August 31, 2017) has credited Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, Middlesbrough and Fulham with interest in the former Alfreton Town defender.

Celtic have been looking for a central defender in the summer transfer window due to the injury suffered by Dedryck Boyata.

However, the Glasgow giants have suffered as many as two blows in their quest to add a new centre-back in recent days.

First, Rivaldo Coetzee failed his medical at Celtic due to a problem with his right foot, as reported by BBC Sport, and then Manchester City’s Jason Denayer decided to snub a return to Celtic Park to go back to Galatasaray on loan, according to The Daily Record.
