According to the Scottish Daily Mail (20/07, back page), Celtic now expect to have a new goalkeeper signed up this week.
It’s stated that Celtic have looked the likes of Vasilios Barkas, David Marshall and Joe Hart, but a new mystery stopper could be on the way.
An unnamed goalkeeper is thought to be heading to Parkhead on loan, with Celtic hopeful of getting the deal signed off this week.
Celtic need to find a replacement for Fraser Forster after he returned to Southampton, and it seems that another loanee will be arriving.
That may not be what Celtic fans were expecting, but the Bhoys may be preaching caution with their spending due to the global pandemic.
The identity of the goalkeeper remains unclear, but boss Neil Lennon has dropped a major hint that a signing is on the way.
Lennon has told The Scottish Sun that he is ‘spinning a few plates’ in the transfer market, and hopes there may be a goalkeeper coming in this week.

“I’m spinning a few plates but there’s nothing concrete at the moment,” said Lennon. “There are a couple of positions that we are looking to strengthen.”
“Goalkeeper is one of them and we are working on a number of options. Hopefully there may be something this week. We are working on a number of options for other positions, too,” he added.
That lines up with the Mail’s report, with Lennon and co seemingly confident that a new stopper will be arriving in Glasgow very soon.
