The right-back is said to be wanted on loan by the Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers.
Jeremy Toljan trained with Borussia Dortmund this morning – despite speculation that the right-back could join Celtic, according to the Sun.
But the newspaper claims Dortmund haven’t ruled out a late move for Toljan, who the Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, is battling to sign before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
It adds the 24-year-old is open to leaving the Bundesliga leaders having failed to appear at first-team level this season.
The Sun also states that Toljan could replace the Celtic right-back, Mikael Lustig, despite reporting that he is currently a loan target.
And the newspaper quotes the Dortmund sporting director, Michael Zorc, as saying about the player: “Everything is possible till the end of the day. They are in talks.
“In some countries, the transfer window closes at 24 o’clock [BST] and we have one or two conversations.”
Dortmund are said to have paid £6.3 million to sign Toljan from Hoffenheim 18 months ago [Transfermarkt], but the former Germany Under-21 international has only played 23 times for his current employers.
Celtic have already added Oliver Burke, Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo to their squad this month.
