According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are interested in signing Aston Villa wonderkid Aaron Ramsey, while Ajax are also keen.

Significantly, the Daily Mail state that both sides are almost certain to bid for the 17-year-old, with his contract set to expire in June.

The Villans are keen to tie the 6-cap England Under-17 international down, and are hopeful of getting their academy starlet to pen a new deal.

However, the interest from Celtic and Ajax is complicating things, according to the Daily Mail.

Ramsey – who is the brother of another academy prospect in the Midlands, Jacob Ramsey – has made 11 appearances in the youth ranks this term, scoring three goals.

So, what type of player is the teenager?

Well, Ramsey featured in the Guardian‘s Next Generation list, where he was described as ‘technically gifted’ and ‘more than capable of scoring goals’.

He is also labelled as someone who has the vision to create chances for others, as well as the ability to do so.

Ramsey has represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 level, and the Guardian say he even captained the latter side against Germany.

It is also mentioned by the Guardian that the teenager has been spotted with Dean Smith’s first-team.

By all accounts, he seems to be a wonderful prospect, and Villa must be absolutely desperate to fend off interest in their starlet.
