The new Leeds United boss worked with the Bristol City midfielder at Barnsley.

Bristol City are in danger of losing Josh Brownhill – of whom Leeds United’s Paul Heckingbottom is a ‘big fan’, the Sun on Sunday reports [18th February printed edition, page 60].
Brownhill, who played under the new Leeds manager at Barnsley two seasons ago, was linked with a move to Elland Road while Thomas Christiansen was in charge.

The 22-year-old’s contract was due to expire at the end of the campaign, but he later signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal to put an end to the speculation.
However, the Sun on Sunday appears to have cast fresh doubt over Brownhill’s future at Ashton Gate.
Its report reads: “Bristol City run the risk of losing Brownhill as they stall on a new contract for him”.
Are you Shaw?

While Heckingbottom is understood to have maintained an interest in Brownhill, with HITC reporting in January 2017 that the 40-year-old was trying to bring the Bristol City man back to Barnsley, Leeds’ recent capture of Adam Forshaw, who plays in the same position as Brownhill, suggests that they, as a club, have already moved on since last year’s interest.
Leeds fans can get a closer look at Brownhill when they host Bristol City in the Championship on Sunday afternoon…
