Brentford striker Scott Hogan reportedly wants to join West Ham this month.

According to The Sun, Brentford striker Scott Hogan has told friends that he wants to join West Ham United during this month’s transfer window.

Hogan, 24, has built on a superb end to last season, which saw him score seven goals in seven games, by becoming one of the Championship’s most dangerous strikers this term.

With another goal for the Bees in their 3-1 win over Birmingham City this afternoon, Hogan has now moved on to 14 goals this season, and is being heavily linked with a move away from Griffin Park.

In fact, The Sun report that Hogan is desperate to prove himself in the Premier League, and has allegedly told friends that he wants to join West Ham United during this month’s transfer window.

Hogan, who made his way up through non-league, even turning out alongside Jamie Vardy for Halifax Town, has starred for Brentford this term, and his pace on the shoulder of the last man is somewhat similar to former team-mate Vardy.

It’s therefore understandable that he would want to test himself in the top flight, but whether West Ham can afford to bring the English striker to the London Stadium is another matter.

Get West London recently that Brentford won’t budge on their £15million asking price for Hogan, which would be huge money for West Ham to gamble on a player with no Premier League experience and a troubling injury history.

Unless West Ham clear out a number of fringe players, it’s hard to see Bilic being given £15million to spend in January, much less on one player – and as much as Hogan’s pace would give West Ham something different in attack, the Hammers may need Brentford to drop their asking price to land the striker this month.
