According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are set to win the race to sign Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes this summer.
It’s claimed that have struck a £22million deal to sign Gabriel, with the centre back now nearing a move to North London.
Manchester United and Napoli want Gabriel too, but it’s stated that Arsenal have pipped both clubs to his signature.
The Brazilian will seemingly complete his move in the very near future, bolstering Mikel Arteta’s back line.
Gabriel, 22, enjoyed a fine season with Lille, emerging as one of the top young left-footed centre backs in Europe.
He is also big, strong and dominant in the air, but Arteta will no doubt love the balance he provides as a left-footed defender.
Gabriel will now join compatriots David Luiz, Gabriel Martinelli and Willian at Arsenal, in what is something of a coup for the Gunners.
