According to Calciomercato, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in signing Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan this summer.

The Italians news outlet state that the Premier League trio are all ‘ready to attack’ Antonio Conte’s side for the 31-cap Morocco international.

Hakimi only joined Inter Milan back in the summer, swapping the Santiago Bernabeu for the San Siro in a £36 million move from Real Madrid.

However, the financial implications of the COVID-19 pandemic have hit the Italian giants, who may now need to raise money by cashing in on assets.

This has alerted the Gunners, the Blues and the Citizens, who, while also being affected by the pandemic, are still better off than those in Serie A.

So, what type of player is Hakimi?

Well, the 22-year-old spent time on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid, where his boss Lucian Favre had some nice things to say about him.

The Bundesliga’s official website quote Favre as saying: ‘He’s quick, a talented dribbler and comfortable with one-on-ones. He has a big future ahead of him and a huge amount of untapped potential.’

His ex-teammate, Marco Reus, also had some words of praise for Hakimi.

Again, the Bundesliga quote the 44-cap Germany international as simply saying: ‘He’s incredibly fast. From that point of view, he’s always a weapon.’

Whoever lands the Moroccan will be getting a scarily quick full-back, who seems tailor-made for the modern game in which wide defenders are vital.
