Everton have endured a somewhat frustrating summer so far, but they may finally be closing in on a big signing.
The Toffees missed out on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Tottenham Hotspur, whilst defender Gabriel Magalhaes is set to join Arsenal instead of Everton.
Carlo Ancelotti would be forgiven for tearing his hair out as the Premier League season nears, but Everton look to be nearing one signing.
BBC Sport reported on Saturday that Everton have agreed a £25million deal with Napoli for midfielder Allan, with Ancelotti making him a top target.
Ancelotti worked with Allan at Napoli, and now wants to reunite with the 29-year-old at Goodison Park to bolster his midfield.
The situation became a little muddled today; Napoli confirmed that Allan has travelled to Abruzzo with the rest of the squad for a training camp until September 4th.

Additionally, CalcioNapoli24 report that Allan held a goodbye meal today, in order to bid farewell to some of the closest friends he has made in Naples.
That report notes that Allan actually missed training today, and his goodbyes today were the final part of his exit as he gears up for a move to Merseyside.
The Brazilian may be in that Napoli squad, but it still looks like he’s heading to Everton in a move that will bring bite, energy and tenacity to the Everton midfield.
