Newcastle United have been linked with Kenedy of Chelsea in the January transfer window.

According to The Shields Gazette, Newcastle and Chelsea have held discussions over the transfer of the 21-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as a left-back.
The report has also claimed of interest from Russian Premier League club Lokomotiv Moscow in the Brazilian youngster.

Interestingly, The Shields Gazette has claimed that Kenedy’s short-term future could be decided by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
Abramovich bought London club Chelsea back in the summer of 2003 for £140 million, as reported by BBC Sport.
According to The Sun, the 51-year-old Russian oligarch is worth more than £7 billion.

Newcastle are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Manager Rafael Benitez needs to address the left-back area, and Kenedy would be a good short-term signing for the Magpies.
