Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and Neil Lennon’s Celtic are among the clubs interested in signing Lyndon Dykes, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Rangers and Celtic are among a number of clubs showing interest in the 24-year-old striker.

Stoke City, Middlesbrough, Millwall, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Burnley all have made enquires for the 24-year-old striker, according to the report.

Sunderland are also claimed to be interested in the 6ft 2in player, who is valued at £2 million by his club Livingston.

Stats

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Dykes scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 25 Scottish Premiership appearances for Livingston this season.

Huge praise

Peter Hartley, who left Motherwell this summer, raved about Dykes this month.

Hartley told The Scottish Sun about Dykes this month: “Dykes really has got everything and I was always impressed by him.

“You think you’ve got time on the ball, only for him to come from nowhere and take it off you or block your pass. I found him irritating, but I always appreciated how hard he worked.”

Good signing for Celtic or Rangers?

Dykes is a good striker who scores goals and creates chances, and the 24-year-old would be a smart signing for Rangers or Celtic in the summer transfer window.

Although the Gers and the Hoops are well stocked in the strikers’ department, the Old Firm clubs could do with more competition and something different upfront.
