Manchester City will reportedly have to pay £47m in agent fees alone if they are to sign Erling Haaland, who is represented by Mino Raiola.
According to the Sun, the Italian football figure is demanding one of the highest agent fees in history for Haaland. The 21-year-old striker is likely to leave Borussia Dortmund in 2022 in what could be one of the most expensive deals in the sport.
As per the report, City are one of the clubs keen on signing Haaland. Yet this update could be a kick in the teeth for the Manchester giants. Mainly due to the history between Pep Guardiola and Raiola.
The two have not been on the best of terms since Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s failed move to FC Barcelona, where the Swedish legend, who was and still is represented by Raiola, fell out of favour with Guardiola in the pecking order, with the agent threatening the Catalan coach with violence as per the Daily Star.
Indeed, the bad blood still seems to remain with the duo. And Raiola’s insane financial demands for the transfer of Haaland in the summer could be a sticking point for Guardiola and City.
The Premier League leaders are eager to sign a striker in the New Year. And Haaland appears to be the favourite, with the 21-year-old attacker continuing to shatter records for Dortmund this season despite spending some time out on the injury table.
Guardiola must put Raiola rivalry aside to bring Haaland to City

Whilst goals have not been too much of an issue for City this season, there is no denying that signing Haaland would be massive for the club and a real statement of intent to bring continental success to the blue half of Manchester.
Indeed, a transfer will be difficult based on Guardiola’s feud with Raiola. However, the Catalan coach simply has to put this to one side if City are to sign Haaland next year, with the 21-year-old the perfect foil for the Manchester giants.
