According to RMC Sport, Christophe Galtier may have been expecting better offers than a move to Everton – and he’s close to heading to Nice.
Galtier defied the odds by guiding Lille to the Ligue 1 title this past season, beating the huge riches of Paris Saint-Germain in the process.
The problem for Lille is that they’re now struggling for cash, and Galtier is set to move on for a new challenge mere weeks after winning the title.
Galtier to Everton?
Everton are searching for a new boss after losing Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid, and Galtier is one of the names being suggested for the job.
BeFoot in France reported earlier this month that Everton had opened talks to try and land Galtier, despite his verbal agreement to join Nice.
Everton fans even started a Twitter campaign to get Galtier appointed, but it doesn’t look like the Frenchman is heading to Goodison Park.

Galtier heading to Nice
RMC Sport now claim that Galtier was ‘expecting better’ than Everton after they moved to try and bring him to Merseyside.
Lyon had been keen, even Tottenham Hotspur have been suggested. Galtier remains likely to join Nice though, and it could be done in the next few days.
It seems strange that Galtier would consider Nice to be so much better than Everton, but with the financial backing of INEOS, the Ligue 1 side are making strides – strides that could become even bigger with Galtier.
