Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen is facing an uncertain future.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur plan to sign Giovani Lo Celso or Bruno Fernandes this week – and would play him over Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen intimated earlier this summer that it may be time for a new challenge after nearly six years with Tottenham, with the comments coming shortly after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool.

The Dane has received some interest this summer, but nowhere near as much as many would have expected, given that he has racked up 49 goals and 64 assists in 206 Premier League games for Spurs.

It’s now believed that Inter Milan are keen, but are attempting to drive the price down, with Spurs demanding £130million for the 27-year-old playmaker.

With less than a year left on his contract though, Spurs face having to slash their asking price – especially if their transfer plans come off this week.

It’s claimed that Spurs are planning to sign either Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso or Sporting favourite Bruno Fernandes, and would ‘get priority in the team over Eriksen’ – meaning Eriksen may well be dropped if nobody buys him.

There are weeks for Spurs to sell Eriksen to a non-English side, but with Lo Celso or Fernandes targeted this week, he may find himself sat on the bench if a deal doesn’t materialise before Thursday’s Premier League deadline.

Spurs won’t want to see Eriksen leave for free either on a pre-contract agreement in January or at the end of the season, but with time running out to sell him, and the club struggling to find a buyer, Eriksen finds himself in limbo.
