Sunderland have been heavily linked with Middlesbrough stopper Dimi Konstantopoulos recently.

Wales' manager Chris Coleman follows the game from the touchline during the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualification football match between Georgia and Wales in Tbilisi on October 6, 2017.

According to the Northern Echo, Sunderland boss Chris Coleman fears that his pursuit of Dimi Konstantopoulos will go right down to the wire.

Sunderland are looking for a new goalkeeper, and they have made Middlesbrough stopper, Konstantopoulos, their top target.

The Black Cats are eager to get a deal over the line, but Coleman knows it won’t be easy to complete the transfer.

Boro are set to leave Konstantopoulos’s future down to the last minute, with leaves Sunderland facing an anxious wait.

Coleman has made bringing in a new goalkeeper one of his priorities this month, as Sunderland have struggled to find a reliable stopper so far this season.

Both Robbin Ruiter and Jason Steele have been very shaky when given opportunities, and do not appear to have much confidence.

Konstantopoulos could offer Sunderland a great deal of experience, and that could be crucial, as Coleman’s side fight against the drop.
