Chelsea’s Jamal Blackman is hoping to rejoin Sheffield United next season, according to the Sun.
Blackman spent the past campaign on loan at Bramall Lane, where he made 33 appearances.
Following his return to Chelsea earlier this month, the 24-year-old hinted he would be open to coming back in a post on his Instagram page.
And the Sun states, on page 52 of its printed edition on Tuesday, that Blackman ‘is eyeing a £2.5 million move to Sheffield United – despite his new three-year deal with Chelsea’.
The wording of the newspaper’s claim could be misleading, however, given that Blackman is last reported to have extended his contract at the start of the season.
The Londoner’s Chelsea deal still has three years left to run, although he has yet to make a senior, competitive appearance for the Blues.
A £2.5 million deal for Blackman would represent Sheffield United’s highest spend on a single player since Ched Evans nine years ago.
