Chelsea are reportedly set to loan out Celtic target Charly Musonda in January.
According to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea will send youngster Charly Musonda out on loan in January following a controversial Instagram message from him earlier this week.
Musonda took to Instagram to post a since-deleted rant, claiming he was working hard without getting the opportunities he felt he deserved, raising questions about his future at Stamford Bridge.
Musonda may have claimed that the post had nothing to do with Chelsea, but given that he has yet to make a Premier League start this season, and the fact that he has now deleted the post, it may well have been a comment about his situation in West London.
The playmaker, 20, joined Chelsea from Anderlecht back in 2012 having impressed in his native Belgium, but he has played just three games for the Blues, and spent 2016 on loan with La Liga side Real Betis.
Now back with Chelsea, Musonda is still struggling for first-team football, and the London Evening Standard report that Antonio Conte will grant Musonda another loan move in January in order to give him first-team football elsewhere.
Could Celtic be his next destination?
Over the summer, Celtic attempted to land Musonda in a £5million deal (The Daily Record), with Brendan Rodgers hoping to land a major coup by bringing the talented youngster to Celtic Park.
The move fell through as Musonda attempted to establish himself at Chelsea, but with no first-team football and Chelsea being prepared to sanction a loan exit, the path may be clear for Celtic and Rodgers to make a new move in 2018.
Yet, having added wingers Jonny Hayes, Patrick Roberts and Odsonne Edouard over the summer, there may not be room for Musonda anymore, and he would surely only move out on loan if guaranteed first-team football – and that may be difficult for Celtic right now.
