According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will sell wing back Kenedy this summer after his loan spell with Newcastle United ends – but they demand over £20million.

Kenedy, 22, joined Chelsea from Fluminense in his native Brazil back in the summer of 2015, having hit five goals in 40 games for the club before his move to Stamford Bridge.

The wide man struggled to make an impact with the Blues though, scoring three times in only 27 games before being sent out on loan to Newcastle in January.

Since making his switch to St. James’ Park, Kenedy has starred under Rafael Benitez, hitting two goals and two assists in 11 Premier League games, meaning fans want him to sign permanently.

Now, the Daily Mail report that Chelsea are open to selling Kenedy this summer in order to raise funds for new signings, but they would demand a fee of more than £20million for his services.

Paying such a fee would break Newcastle’s transfer record, and it remains to be seen whether owner Mike Ashley – who wants out of the club – would sanction such a move.

There is little doubting that manager Rafael Benitez and the Newcastle fans would love to see Kenedy sign on a permanent basis, but a valuation of over £20million may be too much for the Magpies to swallow.
