Well, Arsenal will be desperate to get Gabriel Martinelli signed up to a new deal, amid potential interest from Chelsea.
The 21-year-old is genuinely among Europe’s finest young players after helping the Gunners reach top spot in the Premier League standings after nine games.
This week, it’s been reported that Arsenal are set to tie him down to a new contract until the year 2028, but are Chelsea lurking?
According to Christian Falk of Bild, possibly.
The reliable German journalist has tweeted out that the Blues are definitely in the equation but, thankfully for the Gunners, the player himself only wants to extend his deal at the Emirates Stadium.

Good news?
Absolutely it is.
Historically there’s no doubt that Chelsea have won more trophies than Arsenal and two Champions League titles over the last decade really illustrates that.
In years gone by, the Stamford Bridge outfit can genuinely tempt players away from North London, but is that the case now?
Well, not really.
Early days, but Arsenal could and probably will have a better season than their capital rivals and with a very young, hungry and exceptionally-talented squad of players, the future is looking extremely bright under MIkel Arteta.
And it makes perfect sense that Martinelli – who cost only £6 million in 2019 – is seemingly content to be part of that.
