According to Eurosport, Chelsea are preparing to field offers for defender Antonio Rudiger ahead of the January transfer window.
It’s claimed that Chelsea are prepared to offload some first-team players in January having enjoyed a busy summer in terms of incomings, and Rudiger is one player who could go.
The report states that Rudiger wants to leave and doesn’t feel like he is being treated fairly, with former club Roma now keen.
Surprise exile
Rudiger made 19 Premier League starts last season and seemingly played a role in luring Timo Werner and Kai Havertz to the club.
Now, Frank Lampard appears to be moving on from Rudiger, as he has yet to make a single Premier League appearance so far this season.
It’s a surprise to see how Rudiger’s Chelsea career is going, as he now appears to be fifth-choice behind Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori.

What about Tottenham?
One of the clubs interested in signing Rudiger over the summer was Tottenham Hotspur, with Jose Mourinho keen to rescue the German international.
However, Goal reported that Rudiger snubbed both Tottenham and West Ham because he didn’t want to join a London rival and potentially ruin his relationship with the Chelsea fans.
That stance may change in January, but having signed Joe Rodon in October, Spurs may not even be in the market for another centre back in the transfer window.
