Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are reportedly ahead of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the race for Brighton and Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo.

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing Moises Caicedo from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Arsenal are still interested in the Ecuador international midfielder despite trying to get a deal done with West Ham United for England international midfielder Declan Rice.

However, it is Chelsea who are ahead of Arsenal in the race for Caicedo, described as an “exciting” player by former Brighton and Blues manager Graham Potter on Sky Sports in February 2021.

Arsenal or Chelsea for Moises Caicedo?

In our opinion, whichever club between Arsenal and Chelsea pay the transfer fee needed for Moises Caicedo will be able to sign the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder.

It is as simple as that.

The Times have reported that Brighton want £80 million for the 21-year-old.

Manchester United are also keen on the midfielder.

It is clear that Brighton will sell Caicedo to whichever club pay them £80 million.

As for the player himself, he will realise that the club who are willing to match Brighton’s valuation of him want him the most.

Meanwhile, The Mirror have reported that Arsenal are expected to sell defensive midfielder Thomas Partey for less than £20 million.
