Chelsea are reportedly keen on Juventus defender Dani Alves.
Juventus’ Dani Alves in action
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus right back Dani Alves, with Manchester City and Tottenham also pursuing him.
Alves, 34, joined Juventus on a free transfer from Barcelona last summer after eight years in Catalunya, with many questioning whether he could still play at the very top level of the game given his advancing years.
However, Alves has proven those people wrong with a stunning season for Juventus, notching six goals and six assists in all competitions whilst playing a key role in Massimiliano Allegri’s Juve side.
Juventus’ Dani Alves reacts
Alves has not only helped Juventus win yet another Serie A title, but played a major role in the Turin giants reaching the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Cardiff this evening.
Ahead of that game, the Daily Mail report that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte – formerly of Juventus – is eyeing a raid to sign Alves this summer, with just a year left on his Juventus deal.

Whilst Victor Moses fared well in an unfamiliar right wing back role under Conte, it’s suggested that Alves could be signed as an upgrade this summer, as the Blues look to build on their title win.
The report adds that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is keen to reunite with Alves having managed him at Barcelona, whilst Tottenham are again credited with an interest in the Brazilian star.

Ultimately though, it’s hard to see Alves joining Spurs. Signing a big-name 34-year-old on considerable wages is virtually the complete opposite of what Mauricio Pochettino has assembled, with Tottenham instead focusing on talented young players on relatively cheap deals.
Whilst Alves could replace Kyle Walker, he doesn’t appear to fit the mould of a Tottenham signing under Pochettino, making the rumours of a move from Spurs somewhat strange.
