Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul is of interest to Chelsea, according to reports.

According to a report in the Guardian, Chelsea could move for Newcastle United stopper Tim Krul – if Asmir Begovic leaves this month.

Begovic has could leave Stamford Bridge, after failing to dislodge Thibaut Courtois as the London side’s number one stopper.

Bournemouth are believed to be the front runners to sign Begovic, and they are hoping to conclude a deal in the coming weeks.

If the Cherries do complete the signing of the Bosnian international, Chelsea will be forced to look in the transfer market for additions.

And Newcastle’s Krul is said to be on Antonio Conte’s wishlist, as a potential replacement for Begovic.

Krul has been loaned out by Newcastle this season to Ajax, after he picked up a serious injury last campaign.

Karl Darlow is currently Newcastle’s number one, and they also have Matz Sels and Rob Elliot in reserve.

Krul has not yet made his competitive debut for Ajax, meaning a permanent move could be a possibility, should Chelsea make a bid.
