According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have delayed a final decision on Fikayo Tomori’s loan move to Everton.

It’s claimed that Antonio Rudiger could end up leaving Chelsea, having been left out of the Blues squad to face Liverpool on Sunday.

Frank Lampard wants four centre backs in his squad, and Tomori’s move now hinges on whether Lampard feels that Rudiger will be disruptive if left out.

Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma were given the nod against Liverpool, and with Thiago Silva snapped up, that final spot will be either Rudiger or Tomori.

Tomori, 22, came off the bench against Liverpool on Sunday, and produced a strong performance that may leave Lampard favouring him over Rudiger.

That would be a blow for Everton, who were in advanced talks to sign Tomori on a season-long loan deal according to a report from ESPN earlier this month.

Everton only have two recognised centre backs right now in Michael Keane and Yerry Mina, so any further delays to a move for Tomori may leave them looking elsewhere.
