According to The Athletic, Chelsea could soon pile more misery on Crystal Palace after defeating the Eagles in the FA Cup Semi-Final on Sunday.
What’s the story?
Well, the Blues broke Crystal Palace hearts with a 2-0 win at Wembley, which earned them a meeting with Liverpool in the final.
Now, Chelsea could annoy the south Londoners even more.
The Athletic outline how there has been a breakthrough in talks to renovate Selhurst Park, after positive talks were held with Croydon Council.
However, the planned expansion of Selhurst Park could be complicated if Josh Harris and David Blitzer are successful in their consortium’s bid to buy Chelsea.
The American duo – who make up four of the general partners who own the Eagles, alongside Steve Parish and John Textor – are in talks to take over at Stamford Bridge, after Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the Government.
Chelsea prove to be a nuisance for Crystal Palace

In recent weeks, Chelsea have certainly been a thorn in Crystal Palace’s side.
Firstly, they refused a request from the south Londoners for Conor Gallagher to play in the FA Cup Semi-Final, according to Goal.
They also slapped a £50m price tag on the England international’s head, after Crystal Palace enquired over a permanent deal.
Of course, Gallagher is owned by Chelsea, and they can do as they please, but the Eagles won’t be happy.

Then, the Blues went on to win at Wembley, with former Crystal Palace loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek scoring the opener, just to rub salt into the wounds.
Now, they could also spoil plans to expand Selhurst Park.
It’s safe to say Chelsea aren’t exactly making life easy for Crystal Palace at the moment, to say the least.
