Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are reportedly determined to sign Gabri Veiga ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
According to The Guardian, Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing Gabri Veiga from Celta de Vigo in the summer transfer window.
Barcelona are also reported to be keen on the 21-year-old central midfielder.
The report has claimed that Chelsea could “make an offer for the 21-year-old Spaniard soon”.
Veiga has a release clause of £34 million in his contract at Spanish club Celta, according to The Guardian.
Chelsea or Liverpool for Gabri Veiga?
In our view, Gabri Veiga should pick Liverpool over Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
If the Celta de Vigo central midfielder has the choice between the Reds and the Blues, then, in our opinion, he should pick the Merseyside club.
Yes, Chelsea are a big club and a global brand, just like Liverpool, but they have a lot of midfielders already.
And it could take a while for new Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino to get everything sorted in the team.
Chelsea had a really bad campaign last season, and there will be huge pressure on Pochettino and the players for instant success and get things right straightaway.
Now, of course, there will be pressure at Liverpool as well, but we have seen young players such as Harvey Elliott given chances by manager Jurgen Klopp and thrive.
