Jonny Otto has been a big success for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League, having arrived on loan from La Liga powerhouses Atletico.

Wolverhampton Wanderers would surely jump at the chance to sign Jonny Otto from Atletico Madrid on a permanent basis. And, thanks to Chelsea, securing the Spanish left-back now looks more possible than ever.

Atletico need to free up funds to finance a big-money deal for the Stamford Bridge misfit Alvaro Morata, with The Guardian reporting that the former Real Madrid striker could cost the Wanda Metropolitano outfit £48.5 million.

And, according to Fichajes, this could see Diego Simeone’s side cash in on Jonny, though their first priority is to find a club willing to take Croatian forward Nikola Kalinic off their hands.

This could be easier said than done, however, as Kalinic is keen to stay in Spain and has reservations about a move to France or Italy (Marca).

The 2014 La Liga champions paid £6.2 million to sign Jonny from Celta Vigo last summer (AS) with the 24-year-old seemingly identified as the long-term successor for veteran Brazilian Filipe Luis, whose contract expires at the end of this season.

And Jonny has been a huge hit since arriving on loan at Wolves. Speaking to the Birmingham Mail in October, sporting director Kevin Thelwell admitted that the Black Country side would look into whether a permanent deal would be possible.

With Morata edging closer to a return to Spain, it seems that Wolves could get their wish.
