Chelsea reportedly believe they have won the race for Hamburg striker Jann-Fiete Arp.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea believe they have won the battle to sign Hamburg striker Jann-Fiete Arp, ahead of a host of Premier League rivals.
Arp, 17, was born close to Hamburg and has come up through the ranks with the club, having joined them way back in 2010 at the age of just 10.
The teenager has become a sensation in Germany, not only for his 18 goals in 19 caps for his country at Under-17 level, but also for his impact in the Bundesliga this season.

Arp has played four times in the league this season, starting only twice, but he already has two goals to his name, with many tipping the striker for stardom in the future.
Unsurprisingly, that billing has led to major interest in his signature, and The Mirror report that Chelsea believe they have won the race to land Arp ahead of Premier League rivals.
It’s claimed that Chelsea attempted to sign Arp over the summer, but he snubbed the move in order to play more first-team football in Germany first – and with Arp impressing in the Hamburg first team, Chelsea appear to be laying the groundwork for a future move for the striker.

The report notes that Arsenal and Manchester City are also keen to land Arp, whilst the Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race – potentially interesting given that Arp’s idol is Harry Kane.
However, Chelsea are understood to be confident that Arp will be heading to West London, though he may well face a similar path to many youngsters at Stamford Bridge; heading out on loan.
