Newcastle United appear to be closing in on Allan Saint-Maximin.

According to Soccer Link in France, Newcastle United’s Lee Charnley is in France to finalise a deal for Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin, with a €22million (£20million) bid accepted.
The Magpies broke their transfer record last week by signing striker Joelinton from Hoffenheim, but new boss Steve Bruce needs more attacking reinforcements.
A speedy winger would be ideal to support Miguel Almiron and Joelinton, and Saint-Maximin has been a top target for the club in recent weeks.
It’s now claimed that a €22million (£20million) bid has been accepted, and Newcastle’s managing director Charnley is over in the South of France to finalise the deal.
The report notes that Saint-Maximin is represented by the same agency as Joelinton, which may well help Newcastle secure his signature.
Saint-Maximin, 22, was touted as a huge prospect with Saint-Etienne, but has failed to really live up to his hype since moving on to Monaco in 2015, and Nice two years later.

The Frenchman possesses rapid pace and dribbling ability, but end product has been something of an issue, registering just six goals and three assists last season.
Saint-Maximin is major talent with huge potential, but just needs to put his game together on a consistent basis – and having agreed to pay £20million, Newcastle will be confident they can get the best out of him.
