Billy Clarke has been one of League One’s most exciting attackers since moving to Bradford City and would be an excellent signing for Charlton Athletic.

After a turbulent few seasons, there’s a degree of optimism at Charlton Athletic at the moment. They appear to be a force to be reckoned with in the transfer market as manager Karl Robinson looks to raid a number of their League One rivals.

And, according to Kent Live, Bradford City’s maverick wideman Billy Clarke could be high on their list of priorities.

The publication reports that the 29-year-old is out of contract at Valley Parade. And after a fine season in League One, netting seven goals to help the Bantams into the play-off places, he will not be short of suitors at the end of the season.

Furthermore, with Charlton hardly blessed with creativity, Robinson is understood to be aiming to add more firepower to his squad to improve on this season’s disappointing mid-table finish.

Clarke, blessed with intelligence, vision, excellent close control and an eye for goal, could be a snip on a free transfer.

Kent Live adds that Charlton are also interested in fellow Bradford winger Mark Marshall, an almost ever-present in Stuart McCall’s side and recently named the club’s Player of the Year.

Therefore, if Charlton manage to complete not one but two impressive transfer coups, they will have picked up a pair of experienced attackers with proven League One quality.
