League One promotion hopefulls Charlton Athletic need a striker and Kieffer Moore’s fine form at Rotherham United has piqued their interest.

Charlton Athletic fans have been begging for a new striker to arrive at The Valley in January and they could get their wish.
According to London News Online, the League One promotion chasers are hopeful of doing a deal for Rotherham United’s red-hot loanee Kieffer Moore in the New Year.
The 6ft 5ins frontman has netted 13 times in 19 starts for The Millers this season but is set to return to parent club Ipswich Town in January with the Championship side set to activate the break clause in his contract. Manager Mick McCarthy had indicated that he wanted to give Moore the chance to prove himself in the second tier.

But Charlton will look to test Ipswich’s resolve with a bid for a player who could add some much needed presence in attack. It is understood that The Addicks had narrowed down their targets to Moore and Preston-owned Eoin Doyle, who has 12 goals in 17 games on loan at Oldham Athletic in the third tier.
Reports, however, have indicated that Doyle is suffering from a blood clot, London News Online add, which mean Moore now stands as Charlton’s most likely transfer target. Though Rotherham would like to sign him on a permanent basis.

Karl Robinson’s Charlton are ninth in League One as things stand but are only two points off the play-offs. However, only Portsmouth and Shrewsbury Town have scored fewer than their 31 goals in the current top ten.
